The Platinum #3776 Century range uses the 'Slip and Seal' airtight cap. The innovative screw-on cap system uses an inner plastic seal with a strong spring. The primary benefit of this system is improved storage ability - the ink will not dry out even if left for over a year. An added benefit is improved resistance to leaks due to pressure changes.
The updated Century v2 features a few design enhancements compared to the previous Century pens, mainly around an improved sealing system. The previous version was found in tests to keep the in from drying out for around two years, while the updated version is estimated to keep the ink from drying out for over three years.
The grip and feed section has been redesigned with additional air sealing. The grip itself has been improved for more stable writing. The end of the cap has a new design, removing the nut to allow for a clear dome with a cleaner look. The nib engraving, with the shape of Mount Fuji, has been modernised in style, and the transparent barrel has been subtly improved for a more clear view of the ink inside.
This demonstrator version is a limited edition of just 2,000 individually numbered pens.
Slip and Seal cap pens are compatible with Platinum Carbon and Pigment inks for everyday use.
The #3776 name comes from the height in metres of Mt. Fuji, the highest and most beautiful peak in Japan.
