Cult Pens is a fully authorised Montblanc reseller, with all our stock coming directly from Montblanc. We're known for our fast delivery and great customer service.

From beginnings in 1906, the name Montblanc came about in 1909, as a way of recognising their pen as the pinnacle of quality pens, as the Mont Blanc is the pinnacle of the Alps. In 1924, they introduced one of the most famous pen ranges in the world, the Meisterstuck ('masterpiece'). The height of the mountain in metres, 4810, has been engraved on their nibs since 1929. While many luxury goods companies rest mainly on their history, Montblanc continue to update their style, with highly contemporary collections and modern editions sitting alongside the classics.

Many fountain pen users also know Montblanc well for the quality of their inks, the innovative bottle to help you get the last drops into your pen, and even their beautiful packaging, so the ink looks great on their desks as well as in their pens.

Montblanc FAQ

What’s the history of Montblanc?

Montblanc was founded in 1906 in Berlin, but today you can find them headquartered in Hamburg. They make a full range of luxury goods from watches to fragrances, but Montblanc started life as a fountain pen maker. Their flagship range is the ’Meisterstück’, which they have been making since 1924.

What makes Montblanc different?

Montblanc pride themselves on the quality of their products, and their pens are designed around principles of longevity. Or as they would put it; their pens are ‘crafted to withstand the passing of time’. For a brand named after a mountain, it probably makes sense that they build things to last.

Recommended Montblanc products

While the Meisterstück is the classic Montblanc design, if you are looking for something a bit more modern, we recommend the ’StarWalker’. The design is inspired by astronauts' views of Earth.

Montblanc might be best known for their pens, but you shouldn’t ignore their ’notebooks’. Made with the same luxurious design approach, the range covers everything from classic and understated to beautifully illustrated covers.

If you are looking for something a bit different, you should look at the ’Montblanc limited edition collection’. It’s frequently updated with unusual designs, from Meisterstuck Solitaires to their homages to great people of the past like Muhammad Ali and Jane Austen.
