The most distinguished paper in the world. Finest quality since 1870. In 1478 the Hapsburg Emperor Maximilian I allowed the monks of La Hulpe in Belgium the use of the waters of the Argentine to set up a mill. Two centuries later, King Charles II of Spain declared the mill for the 'Royal Paper Manufactory'. Another two hundred years passed before Frederic Pelletier ordered a ribbed paper from the Royal Manufactory which looked and felt like the hand-made sheets of the ancient mill: Original Crown Mill. Pelletier took the paper for his factory, which he founded in 1870 in Brussels. There he produced exclusive and luxurious stationery and envelopes. The successor of Frederic Pelletier still enjoys the privilege of supplying the royal family of Belgium with a fine paper supply. Proud of their craftsmanship and quality, Pelletier marks their paper with their traditional watermark.
