Brushes are somehow very similar to pens, but also very different. They kind of do the same job, but in a very different way. While there are brush pens, which hold their own ink, most brushes don’t carry ink in them, they’re dipped in ink, or, more often, paint. There are a lot of different types and shapes, and having the right brush for the job can be quite important.
For watercolour, there’s a special type of brush that can make life a bit easier - water brushes, with water held inside the brush body. These are great for convenient watercolour painting, or even watering down ink as you’re painting. They’re most often used as part of a little on-the-go kit for watercolour painting, so you have everything you need in one handy little case.
