Founded in 1930 as a coachbuilder, Italian design company Pininfarina Segno has recently ventured into producing everlasting pencils with an Ethergraf® tip: beautifully-designed, hand-crafted writing instruments constructed from such materials as magnesium and aluminium that will never need replacing.
Pininfarina SpA are notable for some of the most arrestingly pretty cars of the 1960s and 1970s, such as the Alfa Romeo Spider and the Ferrari 308. They later expanded into industrial design, interior design, architecture and graphic design - and now everlasting pencils. The Ethergraf® tip is an alloy that leaves a mark on paper - a bit like a hard-grade pencil - and wears down so slowly that it should last for a lifetime of use.
