Textile Markers

12 Results

Also known as laundry markers or fabric markers, textile markers are designed to mark cloth. They’re ideal for writing children’s names in their school uniform or PE kits (saves having to sew on name tapes) and they can be used in craftwork as well. There are quite a few to choose from, including the Artline 2in2in1 Shirt Marker with two colours and tip sizes in each pen; and for marking names in small spaces, the Pilot Laundry-Tec is perfect - a fine needle-point pen for marking clothing with precision.

Textile Markers FAQ

What is a textile marker?

You know this is a bit obvious, right? It’s a marker for marking textiles. Often also known as a laundry marker. But some are more suitable to artistic projects, while some are really made for writing your kids’ names in their PE kit.

What’s good for that PE kit?

For that, go for something sold as a ‘Laundry Marker’ or ‘Textile Marker’, probably with a small tip so you can write on the little tags that are usually too small. No, we don’t know why they make the tags so small either.

What’s good for art projects and decorating?

Start with Uni POSCA markers - they’re available in a wide range of colours and tip sizes. Check the notes on that page on how to make them permanent, though, or all your work could just wash away!
