As Retro 51 puts it, 'Life is too short to carry an ugly pen'. And we agree. Their bright colours and cool designs have more than a hint of nostalgia about them, and all their pencils are made with good old-fashioned values in mind.
This Matilda Tank pen is part of the Imperial War Museum collection. It's an homage to a very successful World War 2 tank, manufactured from 1937, with almost 3,000 of them made for the war. It was known for its heavy armour, making them far more difficult to destroy. Many of them had an unusual camouflage pattern, using large areas of colour to break the tank into sections, based on 'dazzle pattern' camouflage used on ships.
The pen features this camo pattern, along with tank tracks along the barrel. A combination of printed pattern and acid etching is used to make a more tactile finish, and the top trim features the Imperial War Museum logo. Based on a Matilda II Mk V on display at IWM North in Manchester.
Orders placed before 3pm Monday to Friday will normally be sent out the same day.
