Inspired by the ideals of the Bauhaus, Otto Hutt's goal is simple: To create high-quality products in a unique style. They were founded in 1920 by Karl Hutt, that's over 100 years ago, so it has clearly worked!
Otto Hutt started out making writing instruments and pocket accessories made of silver intended for everyday use. Karl Hutt founded the company but its name is taken from his son, Otto, who took over the company from his father in the 1960s. Making items from silver is a tradition which has carried through to today, with many of their writing instruments still featuring parts made from sterling silver.
Combining classic design with traditional craftmanship, the design02 is a flawless highly polished sterling silver pencil that has been meticulously crafted with engine-turned, hand-worked sterling silver and then engraved with a beautiful pinstripe pattern. Minimalist in design but professional and beautiful to look at. The silver body does have a more practical use though, due to the texture of the material, it makes the pencil very easy to grip and comfortable to hold. Polished platinum fittings help with durability.
When manufacturing is complete, each pencil is carefully polished by a specialised department at Otto Hutt using methods that are more common with jewellery processing than with pencils. While not a limited edition, the pencil is given a unique 6-digit identifying serial number which is engraved to the cap section.
An eraser is concealed in the top cap and the pencil accepts 0.7mm leads.
Presented in an Otto Hutt gift box.
