As well as having such a great name for a brand - Nahvalur, the Icelandic translation of their former name, Narwhal - this New Jersey company offers a range of really striking pens.
IKKAKU is a range of beautifully crafted pens, made from premium ebonite, and coated in layers of urushi lacquer in a process that takes months to complete. Layers of decoration and lacquer are build up by hand, with careful attention to detail.
A cobalt blue urushi lacquer forms the background for the beautiful 'sakura' cherry blossoms and petals. The flowers themselves are hand painted in soft pinks and pearlescent white. The brass clip features more pretty cherry blossom.
149mm long, 13mm wide, weights 37g. 14-carat gold nib. Cartridge/converter filled, or use silicone grease to use as an eyedropper-filled pen.
Orders placed before 3pm Monday to Friday will normally be sent out the same day.
