The first edition of the Wabi Sabi series, it looks more like a work of art than your traditional fountain pen. Designed by Urushi artist, Wayo Shimamori, these pens are made using the 'Irogasane Sabinuri' technique, designed by Shimamori himself.
The name is inspired by by a spiritual concept in Japan known as Wabi-sabi which encourages people to accept and appreciate imperfection and live a simplistic life. 'Wabi' meaning simplicity and 'Sabi' describing beauty that comes with age.
The barrel is made from ebonite, which is a hard, vulcanised rubber and is coated in a special Urushi lacquer. The crimson red barrel contrasts well with the gold plating and the 'Irogasane Sabinuri' effect created on the pen gives it a unique look.
The nib is made from 21-karat gold and is gold plated. Available in medium and broad sizes. Accepts Sailor in cartridges or can be used with bottled ink using the supplied Sailor converter.
Presented in a beautiful minimalistic wooden gift-box.

Orders placed before 3pm Monday to Friday will normally be sent out the same day.
