Inspired by the ideals of the Bauhaus, Otto Hutt's goal is simple: To create high-quality products in a unique style. They were founded in 1920 by Karl Hutt, that's over 100 years ago, so it has clearly worked!
Otto Hutt started out making writing instruments and pocket accessories made of silver intended for everyday use. Karl Hutt founded the company but its name is taken from his son, Otto, who took over the company from his father in the 1960s. Making items from silver is a tradition which has carried through to today, with many of their pens still featuring parts made from sterling silver.
Guaranteeing a beautiful writing experience at an affordable price, the design 01 is part of Otto Hutt's entry range of fine writing instruments. Optimal for those who want to try out the range without committing to some of the more pricey options.
Make no mistake though, this is still an Otto Hutt pen and as such is made to the highest standard. Each pen features a brass barrel which is coated with four layers of lacquer which is then matted. Not only does this give the pen a beautiful finish to look at but it's practical too. The highly durable lacquer coating could probably withstand a bullet(okay not really, please don't shoot the pen. You get the point though, they're durable and made to last).
The caps sleeves are made from sterling silver, then plated with platinum which is hand polished. The rest of the trimmings are also coated with polished platinum. Entry level for Otto Hutt. Exceptional quality and luxurious for many others.
The design 01 will be a companion for life. It features a slimmer profile than other Otto Hutt pen ranges which keeps the cost and weight down. Engraved with a unique six-digit serial number unique to each pen. Refillable using widely available Parker G2-Type refills. The tip can be extended by twisting the end.
Approx dimensions: Measures 140mm length; 9mm diameter; Weighs 23g.
