The design of the Onoto Magna Classic is based on one of the most famous fountain pens ever made - the Onoto Magna of 1937, which some have dubbed 'the best fountain pen ever made'.
Onoto pens are on occasion designed to commemorate influential historical persons, institutions and other circumstances where a special pen would pay the perfect homage. The Shakespeare collection celebrates the 'Bard of Avon' whose plays are still being performed, turned into films and studied in countless schools the world over, despite being written more than 400 years ago. All the pens are limited editions.
Made of 23 carat gold-plated solid sterling silver, this pen is limited to just 8 pieces (because he was one of 8 children? We're not completely sure!) Both cap and barrel feature an intricate engine-turned pattern, and the gold-plated cap band is engraved with Shakespeare's signature, while the cap button depicts his portrait. The pocket clip is inscribed with a chevron pattern and the Onoto logo.
Fitted with an 18 carat gold Onoto size 7 nib, available in a range of sizes. Refill with widely-available standard pattern ink cartridges, or fit a converter (supplied with the pen) to use bottled ink.
Dimensions: closed 156.5mm, uncapped 133mm. This pen is not designed to be posted. Weighs 97g.
Supplied in a luxury gift box.
Orders placed before 3pm Monday to Friday will normally be sent out the same day.
