Esterbrook is one of the greatest names in American pen history. Founded in 1858, by their peak they were making 216 million pens a year. Unfortunately, as the market changed, Esterbrook went out of business in 1971. Now they're back, with the name brought back and the designs reinvented by Kenro Industries, who have plenty of experience of bringing back or continuing famous pen brands.
The Estie is inspired by Esterbrook designs from the 1930s, using some beautifully machined acrylics - the black is basic and understated, while the more colourful patterns are bright and eye-catching.
The Petrified Forest is named after the Petrified Forest National Park found along America's most famous road, Route 66. The park is well-known for its fossils, with many of the petrified wood samples dating back to the late Triassic Epoch. That's 225 million years ago. The orange barrel colours take inspiration from the painted desert of Arizona, where the Petrified Forest can be found.
The oversize version is a truly substantial pen! 155mm long capped, 185mm posted. Weighs 33g. Cushion-cap closure. Palladium trim with a steel nib available in a range of sizes. Supplied in a gift box with a converter for use with bottled ink, and will also take standard pattern ink cartridges.
An added option with this pen is a 'Custom Gena' nib created especially for Esterbrook by Gena Salorino. This is a medium stub based on the vintage Esterbrook 9314M nib. It's smooth and friendly enough for everyday use, not too big, and gives your writing some flair. Following on from the 'Custom Gena' nib, is the second custom nib sold by Esterbrook called the 'Scribe'. Handcrafted in New York by nib-maker Josh Lax. The Scribe nib is similar to an architect nib; it is ground into a wedge to give broad cross-strokes and narrow downstrokes. Both are special order only.
Orders placed before 3pm Monday to Friday will normally be sent out the same day.
FREE Royal Mail Standard delivery for orders over £100, and just £3.50 for smaller orders. Royal Mail Priority is available as an option, for £3.50 on orders over £100, £5.50 on smaller orders. Express available for £9, or FREE with any order over £400. No delivery surcharges for Northern Ireland, Highlands & Islands or anywhere else!
International deliveries vary in cost, so you'll need to add the items you want to your basket, and enter the checkout to see the options for delivery. Prices and payment methods will reflect your country, and many countries have all taxes and duties included to make things easier and more predictable.
