Henri Matisse is an important figure in the world of 20th-century art who helped set the tone for modern art.
The design of the pen is inspired by Matisse’s use of vibrant colours, in particular the blue and white larque and platinum-coated fittings come from his iconic Blue Nude III.
The generously rounded, almost sculptural shape of the cap is a nod to the pronounced curves of many of Matisse’s sculptures, reflecting his combination of techniques and different means of expression.
