Pilot Capless Fountain Pens

A marvel of Japanese craftsmanship, the Pilot Capless introduced in 1963 redefined fountain pen elegance with its groundbreaking retractable nib. Seamlessly uniting innovation and sophistication, it offers the rare convenience of push-button operation without compromising the fluid grace of traditional writing. Each Capless is a testament to meticulous design and engineering precision, encased in finishes that speak to refined tastes, from understated matte lacquers to gleaming rhodium accents. Revered by connoisseurs and collectors alike, it transcends utility to become a symbol of refined luxury. Over six decades, the Capless has evolved while preserving its iconic spirit, an enduring fusion of artistry, performance, and everyday indulgence.

The Capless can be used with ink cartridges but is also supplied with a converter to allow use of bottled ink. Available in a wide range of finishes, including the prestigious Namiki Raden, and all come supplied in a luxury gift box.

A note on nibs: Japanese 'medium' nibs are generally considered to be finer than European medium nibs, however in recent years the Capless medium nib has moved in line with European medium nibs. The broad nib is a good wide broad, but the fine nib is closer to a European extra-fine.

Pilot are, considered by aficionados, to be of exceedingly high quality. Pilot-Namiki nibs are held in the same esteem as Pelikan, Waterman and other high-end manufacturers. Our many customers for this pen attest to the supreme quality of writing and the high level of practicality offered.
