What’s the difference between a pen case and a pencil case?
We’re not sure there’s a definitive answer to this, but pen cases usually either only hold one pen, or hold several separately. A pencil case is more commonly just a pouch you can fill with pens and pencils, sometimes with multiple compartments.
Can I put pens in a pencil case?
Yes, of course. We’re not going to stop you.
Can I put pencils in a pen case?
No, absolutely not. Oh, go on, then. If you must. Most pen cases have slots that are a bit too wide for pencils, though, so it might not work out so well.
What features should I look for?
Size might be the first consideration - you need your pencil case to be big enough to hold all the pens, pencils and accessories you’ll want to carry, but you probably don’t want it to be too much bigger, or it’ll take up extra space in your bag.
After that, think about how many compartments you want - many pencil cases are just one section, where everything gets thrown in together, which may be fine. If you want to keep some things separate, though, either for protection or organisation, there are plenty of options for that too - Lihit Lab have some great cases with lots of spaces for all your stuff.
And then, what do you want it to look like? If you’re going to use it in business meetings, you might need something that looks quite smart. For kids to use at school, a bit more novelty is probably called for. If you’re into the cute and kawaii, we’re back to Lihit Lab, with their super-cute cases.
