Benu FAQ
What’s the history of Benu?
Benu is a relative newcomer to the world of fountain pens, but they have certainly made an impression. Started in 2016, they are now based in Yerevan, Armenia. The Benu name comes from an ancient Egyptian deity and an early word for what we would know as a Phoenix.
What makes Benu different?
You can see what makes them different just by looking at their pens! They go for bright and bold designs, in very unusual styles. So unusual that we made the odd decision not to sell them at first. We loved the pens, but were worried they were a bit too much for our customers. Luckily we second-guessed ourselves, and it turns out our customers love them as much as we do.
Recommended Benu products
Benu’s Talisman’ range draws inspiration from myths and legends from around the world; from four-leaf clovers to dragons.
The Euphoria range is devoted to ‘different sources of simple, hedonistic pleasures.’ They have pens inspired by alcohol, like ‘Vodka’ or ‘Bloody Mary Cocktails’. Others are based on travel, like ‘Tropical Voyage’ or ‘Bora Bora’. There should be something in there that you like the sound of, and the designs are very striking.
