Wajima-nuri is a form of lacquerware produced in Wajima-city which dates back to the Heian-era. In honour of the skilled work of the Wajima-nuri maki-e craftsmen, the Wajima-Bijou was developed. Wajima in honour of the urushi technique used to create the pen and Bijou meaning jewel in French.
The pen features a series of black rings on the urushi lacquer-coated resin barrel which complements the highly polished gold trim beautifully. The Sailor anchor logo is fitted to the cap by hand and is surrounded by mother-of-pearl. The cap band features the Sailor name with an image of a diamond engraved to it.
Fitted with a 21-carat gold nib with bicolour plating available in a range of sizes. Refill with Sailor ink cartridges or use a Sailor converter for use with bottled ink.
Measures: 18 x 129mm (including pocket clip); 13mm barrel diameter. Weighs 30.6g.
Supplied in a paulownia wood gift-box with a cushioned interior.
