Montblanc's classic pen is the Meisterstück, and what better collection to create for it than one based on a literary classic? Jules Verne's Around the World in Eighty Days involves intrigue and adventure, excitement, gallantry and derring-do, and Montblanc have created a collection of pens more than worthy of such a monumental undertaking. Dark blue barrels, wave motifs and steamship cartouches represent the first part of the journey from London to Bombay, as much of the passage was by sea.
The second leg, from Bombay to Yokohama, included a less conventional mode of transport, and so the most recent additions to the collection feature anthracite barrels and caps inscribed with Kiouni, the elephant who conveyed the party when the railway could not.
With references to Phileas Fogg's fondness for whist in the form of card suits, and each journey's length inscribed into the caps, these special Meisterstücks are truly fabulous writing instruments.
