On the whole, marker tips are generally pretty robust. They have to be, because they’re often used on unforgiving surfaces such as metal and wood. But sooner or later they’ll start to fray or disintegrate, and that’s when you might feel you’ll have to discard it. However, if yours is a marker whose tip can be replaced - notably POSCA, edding and COPIC - then you can give it a new lease of life!
