They are available in a range of different materials including brass, aluminium and a lightweight ABS/macrolon plastic. There are mechanical pencils and clutch pencils, and you can choose between lead thicknesses of 0.5, 0.7 and 0.9mm or even a very chunky 3.2 or 5.6mm.
