The Sailor Professional Gear, more often known as the Pro Gear, is probably their best known range of pens. Where the 1911 takes inspiration from classic European designs, with its rounded ends and cigar shape, the Pro Gear goes its own way. Flat ends, a simple, but slightly different, shape. Gold rings for just enough decoration. And a range of sizes for different hands and budgets. The Pro Gear Slim, sometimes known as the Sapporo, is the most popular, and lowest cost. The Regular might suit larger hands better, and adds a higher gold content to the nibs. Then there's the King of Pens, thicker, with even more gold, and price tags to match.
But they're all made to the same high standards, with the quality and attention to detail that has made Sailor so loved by fountain pen fans all over the world.
And then there's the huge range of colours and finishes, with special and limited editions coming along frequently. It means there's usually a Pro Gear that suits you perfectly, and they're often at least somewhat rare, so you're unlikely to see anyone else with the same pen. But if you do want the classic look, there are always standard models available in black and gold, and they fit in anywhere.
