A never-ending pencil and a work of art. The gurus at the Italian design house Pininfarina have teamed up with luxury performance car manufacturers Maserati to create this, the Pininfarina Cambiano Engine Maserati.
It's sleek and deceptively simple, and designed as an homage to the Maserati's roaring 5 litre engine. Using a clever and patented metal alloy tip (Ethergraf ®) to produce a precise, graphite-like line, the Pininfarina Cambiano Engine writes like a hard pencil, and its markings - which are lighter than a normal pencil - can even be erased like one. Like a pencil, it works by leaving a bit of the 'lead' on the paper, but the metal alloy wears down so slowly it should last for a lifetime of use.
All Pininfarina pencils are made entirely by hand in Italy.
This special edition is constructed from aluminium, with cedar wood inserts. The sleek body tapers from the middle of the pencil to each tip. Measures 160mm long, barrel diameter ranges from 10mm at its widest to 4mm near the tip, weighs 39g.
Supplied in a beautifully-designed presentation box which also doubles as a decorative yet functional desk stand for the pencil.

FREE Royal Mail Standard delivery for orders over £100, and just £3.50 for smaller orders. Royal Mail Priority is available as an option, for £3.50 on orders over £100, £5.50 on smaller orders.
